SOLICITORS

CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS
We offer a range of services to meet the needs of people appearing before the Court on criminal charges.  We consider issues of fitness to plead, where the ability level of the defendant is very low. Where a screening instrument, such as the MMPI 2RF (see below), suggests the presence of a severe emotional problem, a plea of mitigation may be possible.
We have an extensive library of research information on a range of offence types, including sexual offences and internet crime. The following are examples of the standardised instruments we commonly use in the assessment of individuals.

  • The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory -2 Restructured Form by Y.S  Ben-Porath and A Tellegen)
  • The Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory –III by T Millon
  • The NEO Inventory by R.R McCrae and P.T Costa
  • 16 PF 5 by R.B Cattell   A.K.S Cattell and  H.E.P Cattell
  • The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, D Wechsler

We currently charge £93.00 plus VAT per hour and £40.00 plus VAT per hour for travel. If you would like to discuss a case or you require a quote please call us or fill in the ‘contact us’ form.
A CV is available on request.

FAMILY PROCEEDINGS
We offer a range of services specifically for the Family Court in both public and private proceedings, e.g. issues about the Custody and parental contact with children. We are able to provide detailed intellectual and personality profiles of parents using a range of standardised instruments, including:

  • The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory -2 Restructured Form by Y.S  Ben-Porath and A Tellegen)
  • The Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory III by T Millon
  • The NEO Inventory by R.R McCrae and P.T Costa
  • 16 PF 5 by R.B Cattell   A.K.S Cattell and  H.E.P Cattell
  • The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, D Wechsler

We are also able to assess the intellectual competence of children using the British Ability Scale, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for children and the Wechsler Abbreviated Intelligence Scale. These scales cover children from one month of age to 18 years.
Standardised instruments are only a guide and our assessments are based essentially on 30 years’ experience of child and family assessment, whilst working in Child and Family Guidance, Social Services and in Education Departments, as well as in private practice. Assessments are always consistent with the best professional practice, the latest research and the understanding it brings to psychological investigation.
Family assessments are very variable in nature and sample copies of recent reports and my CV are available on request.
